Bhutan Trekking with Cultural Tour
Day 1 Arrival to Paro
Activities for today: Representatives from Amedewa Tours & Trek will receive you with “Tashi Khada”, traditional way of receiving our guest.
Start today's tour with Paro Dzong. Later visit Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower housing the National Museum, with abundant culture relics.
Visit Paro Ringpung Dzong and then stroll Paro town or check into Hotel and take rest.
Druk Path Trek Begins (Duration: 5 Days)
Day 2 Paro to jele Dzong past Damchena Village
5Hours, 10 km, Altitude: 3480m
Activities for today: After breakfast drive to National Museum road end and then start our trek and visit Jele Dzong.
Day 3 Jele Dzong to Jangchulhakha
4 Hours, 10 km, Altitude: 3780m
We continue our trek through thick alpine forest and rhododendrons to reach the yak herders pastures at jangchulhakha.
Night camp in yak pastures near the hillside.
Day 4 Jangchulhakha to Jimilhangtsho lake
5 Hours, 10 km, Altitude: 3880m
Today we will trek to reach Jimilhangtsho lake which is famous for giant size trouts.
Overnight camp near the lake.
Day 5 Jimilhangtsho via Janetsho lake to Simtokha
4 Hours, 11 km, Altitude: 4110m
We continue our trail and reach Janetsho lake, spend some time and then continue until we reach Yak pasture. Camp in the evening.
Day 6 Simtokha Via Phajoding to Thimphu
7 Hours, 14 km, Altitude: 1800m
With views of Mt Gangkar phunseum and other Himalayan peaks, we will descend down and then climb phume la pass and then you can see the view of Thimphu valley from the top. Our traiks descends down to Phajoding and we will continue to reach Sangaygang where your tour SUV will wait for you
If interested visit Farm house for dinner and mingle with the locals.
You can also try homemade local wine at the farm house if interested. If interested visit Hotstone bath and relax.
Evening halt at the hotel.
Day 7 Thimphu sightseeing/Paro
Activities for today:
We will then take a scenic drive up to Buddha Point in the Kuenselphodrang to see the 169-foot-tall bronze statue of the seated Buddha Dordenma. One of the largest sitting Buddha statues in the world, it sits atop a hill where you will see sweeping views of the valley and surrounding mountains, one can also meditate inside for sometime and then visit Textile Museum in Thimphu.
Try our National costumes “Gho for men” and “Kira for Women”
Thimphu Tashichho Dzong, a traditional fortress and Buddhist Monastery, is the largest in the city. Featuring distinctive Bhutanese architecture, using neither nails nor written plans, the structure serves as the current seat of the King of Bhutan.
The National Memorial Chorten was built in 1974 to honor the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. A chorten is a hemispherical shaped memorial stupa. Known as the most visible religious landmark in Bhutan, it is used as a place of meditation.
Centenary Farmers’ Market is where most of the locals gather on the banks of the river every weekend. Villagers from the nearby valley come here to sell agricultural products and handmade crafts and visit Simply Bhutan Museum (Try Archery if interested).
Enroute visit Archery ground where locals play archery on weekends/Public Holidays in Thimphu.
Paro/Chelela Pass/Haa/ Paro
We will drive to Chelela pass, highest motorable road end in Bhutan.
A short hike to Lhakhang Karpo ( White temple) and Lhakhang Nagpo ( Black temple)
Visit Haa town for some time and return back to hotel in the evening at Paro.
Tiger’s nest hike
Activities for today: Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest)
This morning we will start early morning to trek Taktsang (Tiger's Nest), be amazed by the view of this sacred temple hanging on the rocky cliff, and take in the beauty of Paro valley. You can also choose to meditate inside the monastery.
We will then make a visit to Paro Festival after lunch that day or if you wish, we can keep it on the last day before your outbound flight and make a quick visit there and then drive to the airport on Day 9.
Stroll Paro town and the Handicraft market
Halt at Hotel in Paro.
After breakfast, drive to the airport for flight to onward destination.
