Covid 19 Travel update

Despite being the first country globally to start a vaccination scheme, the United Kingdom is one of the countries that has seen the highest number of deaths from Covid as a result of the deadly second wave over the winter months. Since then, the country has been on lockdown until recently when it was moderately lifted.

Regarding travel, the UK mandated all travellers arriving in the UK, including British citizens, to present a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of arrival. This policy was put in place on the 18th of January. Before this, the borders had been open with no test requirements.
