Jazz Dance, Modern Dance & Hip Hop for Teens  (13-16 years, 60 minutes)

This class high energy class focuses on the basic techniques of Commercial Dance and the styles which fall beneath that umbrella, such as, jazz, modern, hip hop and theater. Commercial Dance emphasizes not only technique but performance elements such as developing one’s stage persona and presence. Commercial Dance is often associated with moves that are energetic, dynamic, strong and confident. Along with that Commercial Dance would not be complete without it’s individual style, personality and playfulness. You may have noticed that some famous artists such as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Rhianna are often accompanied on stage or in their music videos by commercial dancers. Our class routines will be made to the latest pop chart music and choreography will be cool, but age appropriate. We will start with a technique based warm up class moving into a second class working on turns, leaps, and jumps across the floor and short combos in the center. This class will give you the opportunity to be creative in a structured weekly class and a fun environment with pop music. Come ready to dance and don't forget to bring along your personality and lots of energy. This class is suitable for beginners.
