Paro Tshechu Festival in Bhutan 2021


Paro Tshechu starts from 21st March to 23rd March, 2021. It is one of the most popular events in Bhutan which is held for 5 days. It starts on the 10th day of 2nd Bhutanese lunar month and ends on the 15th day. The tour includes visit to Paro festival, Thimphu and Punakha districts with cultural sightseeing along with a day trek to Tiger’s Nest and of course the Hotstone bath during the last day of the tour.

Schedule for Paro Festival: 21st March to 23rd March, 2021 

6 Nights and 7 Days Paro Festival Tour 

Day 1: Arrival to Paro International airport 

Representatives from Amedewa Tours And Trek will receive you with Tashi Khada, traditional way of receiving guest and drive to Thimphu which is the capital of Bhutan. 
Visit iron bridge on the way and Thimphu Tashichodzong in the evening. 
Visit local Farmhouse for dinner and halt at the Hotel/Resort. 

Day 2: Tour of Thimphu 

Visit Buddha Dordenma statue, a gigantic buddha statue overviewing the Thimphu city. 
National Memorial Chorten, it is a memorial to His Majesty the third king, JIgme Dorji Wangchuck and a monumentto world peace. 
Institute for Zorig Chusum, it is commonly known as the Painting school where students undertake six years course on the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan. 
Bhutan Postal Museum, to get your own personalised stamps done. 
Changlingmithang stadium, where archery (traditional game) match for locals takes place on weekends and publicholidays. 
Centenary Farmer’s Market, where farmers sells thier local farm products. 
Simply Bhutan Museum, whereby one can try archery, watch local dances and ancient artifacts. 
Evening halt at the Hotel/Resort. 

Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha 

It is around 2 hours drive to Punakha from Thimphu, on the way visit Dochula Pass, the 108 Druk Wangyel Chortenwas built to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over Indian insurgents by Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck 
Visit Punakha Dzong, a spectacular Bhutanese architecture built in 1637. It is the second oldest and largest dzong in Bhutan. 
Suspension Bridge, It is one of the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan which offers amazing view of the valley. 
Fertility Temple, also known as Chimi Lhakhang is a Buddhist monastery at Sopsokha village in Punakha. Locals as well as tourist visit to get blessings for their new born or those with infertlities. 
Halt at the Hotel/Resorts 

Day 4: Punakha to Paro 

Drive to Paro which is around 3 hours drive and visit Ringpung Dzong, which houses both monastic body and administrative office in Paro. 
Ta Dzong, which served as a watch tower and now houses the national museum. 
Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan built in the 7th century by Songtsen Gampo. 
Evening free to stroll Paro town and halt at the Hotel/Resort. 

Day 5: Paro Festival 

Today we will visit Paro Festival early morning and spend some time there and if interested try wearing our national costume Gho for men and Kirafor women. 
Drugyel dzong, a short hike of 20 minutes. It was built by Zhandrung Ngawang Namgyel in 1647 to commemorate the Bhutanese victory over the tibetans war of 1644. 
Hotstone bath, a unique experience in Bhutan. 
Evening halt at the Hotel/Resort. 

Day 6: Paro Tiger’s Nest 

Today we will trek to Tiger’s Nest which takes approximately 5–6 hours. It is the culture icon of Bhutan, thanks to its location and amazing surrounding view of the mountains. 
Evening halt at the Hotel/Resort. 

Day 7: Depart Paro 

Today after breakfast we bid farewell to our valued guest with our best wishes and hope to see in the near future.
